Welcome to the website for the Chevy Chase Recreation Association Stingrays for the 2012 season. The Stingrays will be swimming in the Montgomery County Swim League Division E this season.  We're looking forward to a terrific summer of competition and fun! 

STINGRAY REGISTRATION (FOR BOTH TEAM AND PRE-TEAM) IS NOW OPEN!  Again this year, all registrations will be through this website. Registration will close on May 25.

To register, click on the "Start Registration" tab above and to the left on this page, just below the "Sign In/Out" button.  This will take you to the registration start page.  If you are a returning family, fill in the sign-in information using your e-mail and password from last year.  (There is a forgotten password function.) 

If you are a family new to the Stingrays, click "Start Registration" and then click on the button that says "I am not sure if I have a billing address for this team.  This is the e-mail address I want to use."  There are further instructions on the registration start page.

If your swimmer wants to be on the Pre-Team (and can swim at least half the length of the pool, but not a full length), you should register him or her  following the same steps outlined above.  You should designate your swimmer as "8 and Under Pre-Team."

Returning Stingrays and their parents are welcome to sign in using the e-mail addresses and passwords that you used last year to look around.  However, you must register your swimmers again this year for the 2012 season by no later than May 25 for them to be on the team or the Pre-Team.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

TEAM: Practice starts for team swimmers on Tuesday, May 29.  Younger swimmers swim from 4:30-5:30, Monday through Friday.  Older swimmers practice from 5:30-6:30, Monday through Friday. Practice for the regular season runs through Friday, July 13.  Practice for swimmers swimming in the Divisional meet will run through Friday, July 20.

PRE-TEAM:  Pre-Team practice starts on Monday, June 4.  The pre-team practices from 4-4:30, Monday through Friday.  Pre-Team practice runs through Friday, July 13.  

PRE-TEAM INFORMATION

We are getting a number of e-mails from new parents regarding Pre-Team.  Pre-Team is an essential part of the Stingrays and a key source of future Stingray talent.  Coach Jesse and the other coaches operate the Pre-Team with the intention of developing swimming skills so that many Pre-Teamers will graduate to the team and be entered in B Meets this summer.  To be eligible for Pre-Team, your swimmer should be able to swim half the length of the pool unassisted.  If your swimmer can already swim a length, register him or her with the team.  There is no difference in registration fee between team and Pre-Team.

STINGRAYS INFORMATION

The 2012 Meets and Events tab has been updated so you can mark your calendar now with Stingrays meets and social events.  Job sign-ups are also open for the early birds who want to lock in their volunteer assignments now.  Just click on the event and then click on the Job Sign-Up button associated with that event.
